Unlike conventional cutterheads that directly chop the wood, the helical design uses staggered insert knives to shear the wood. This helps to reduce tear-out and provides a smoother finish on the wood surface. Each insert has a radius on the edge to prevent marking the workpiece, ensuring high-quality results even with challenging materials.
