Sundi Tungsten Carbide Woodworking Inserts are engineered for woodworking machine cutters and CNC lathe tools, delivering high-efficiency performance in complex operations including planing, milling, scraping, and turning. We provide reversible woodworking Planer blades and multifunctional woodworking turning tool solutions to comprehensively address diverse processing needs.
All inserts are precision-crafted from 100% tungsten carbide substrate, offering 8-10x higher wear resistance and hardness exceeding HRA90 compared to HSS blades. The two sides of the reversible inserts can be used, which extends the tool’s lifespan and reduces the frequency of tool replacements.
Helical cutter heads with helical blade structure. This spreads out the cutting resistance and achieves better low noise and vibration results than traditional straight cutter heads, thus reducing the risk of wood tearing. Moreover, most reversible blades have four cutting edges, so if one of them wears out, it is only necessary to rotate the blade. This greatly improves processing efficiency.Compatible with major brands (DeWALT, SCM, Grizzly), they ensure smooth finishes for furniture, flooring, and musical instruments.
Our HSS planer blades are forged from premium-grade high-speed steel (W2/W6/W8) for optimal edge retention and shock resistance. Precision-ground cutting edges ensure consistent performance in planing softwoods and composite materials. Compatible with Weinig, Wadkin, and SCM machines, these blades are ideal for small workshops and DIY enthusiasts seeking reliable, resharpenable tools.
sundi’s tungsten carbide tipped (tct) planer blades, which use high-quality welding technology to combine a high-quality particle carbide tip with a high-strength alloy steel substrate, delay the service life of the TCT planer blades by 8-10 times compared to traditional HSS planer blades, dramatically reducing the frequency of knife sharpening and downtime costs. The high hardness and wear-resistant tungsten carbide material ensures stability at high cutting speeds, resulting in improved wood surface finish and machining efficiency. Our TCT planer knives are compatible with Weinig , Wadkin , SCM , Leadermach molders, and more.
SUNDI Integral Tungsten Carbide Planer blades are made of one-piece molding process, 100% made of ultra-fine grain tungsten carbide, which completely avoids the risk of seam wear of traditional welded blades, and its life expectancy is up to 15-20 times that of high speed steel knives. Its hardness is HRA91.4-HRA95.5, which extends the sharpening cycle of planer knives by more than 90%. Its bending strength>2500Mpa. It is very suitable for heavy-duty planers and molders operating
As the core power tool of modern woodworking, electric planer (electric hand planer) integrates plane trimming, chamfering and thickness control, and the core of its performance lies in the selection of blades.SUNDI provides TCT tungsten carbide blades and HSS high speed steel blades solutions for the world’s mainstream electric planer brands (Makita, Bosch, Ryobi, Dongcheng, KEN, Hitachi, etc.). SUNDI provides TCT tungsten carbide planer blades and HSS planer blades for the world’s leading power planer brands (Makita, Bosch, Ryobi, Dongcheng, KEN, Hitachi, etc.), covering the full range of daily DIY to industrial production.
In woodworking, the Thicknesser Planer (known as the Planer or Surface Planer in North America, and the Thicknesser in Australia and England) and the Jointer (woodworkers in the UK may use a combination of the terms “planer” and “jointer”, and the wood Jointer in North America). Both common woodworking tools, the former is used to adjust the thickness of the wood to ensure it is consistent. This includes flattening one side of a piece of wood and is often used for bending rough pieces of wood. The two are often used together to produce boards with a flat surface and consistent thickness. As an ISO 9001 2015 certified manufacturer, SUNDI offers high quality planer blades for top thickness planers. These include DeWALT, Delta, Ryobi, Porter Cable, Ridgid and many more. Our extensive global trade experience can provide you with the most cost-effective wood planing solutions!

PINEWOOD
working material
Challenge: Pine is relatively soft and prone to tearing; The high resin content causes the wood to stick to the tool; handling knots (wood defects) is difficult.
Solution:We replaced the original HSS planing knives with carbide planing knives featuring a special coating. This significantly extended the tool’s lifespan and resulted in a smoother and more even wood surface.

FAQ
HSS (High Speed Steel) planer blades are made of high hardness alloy steel, high temperature resistance and good toughness, suitable for general wood or softwood processing, initial cost is low but easy to wear, need to be sharpened frequently; TCT (Tungsten Carbide Tipped) planer knives are embedded with super-hard tungsten carbide tip on the steel body, extremely wear-resistant, especially suitable for hardwoods, high loads or long time operation, although the price is higher and the tip of the knives is more brittle (easy to chipping when encountering nails), but the service life is significantly longer. However, the service life is significantly longer and suitable for professional scenarios.
There are four main types of planer heads: First, the traditional straight blade planer head, cutting by 2-4 parallel blades, low cost but noisy and prone to wood grain tearing; Second, the spiral/beveled tooth planer head, which arranges the small square or round tungsten carbide blades in a helical line, which makes the cutting quieter and the wood surface smoother, and the blades can be replaced individually; Third, the split modular planer head, which reduces the maintenance cost through the combined structure; Fourth, the double-sided Disposable blade planer head, the blades can be reversed, but need to be replaced directly after exhaustion, suitable for short-term economic needs.
The cost-effectiveness of sharpening depends on the blade material and the degree of wear. High-speed steel (HSS) blade if only passivation without gap, grinding or send repair can significantly reduce costs; and tungsten steel (TCT) blade if the edge chipped, usually need professional equipment to repair or replace the blade, the cost of a single higher, but high-end blades are still worth maintaining. Overall recommendation: give priority to sharpening high-quality blades, and replace cheap blades directly with new ones, which is more cost-effective.
